OUTDOOR PAYPHONE--RUGGED , RELIABLE AND SAFE

Plurima 4 is a modular payphone
designed for operating with the
following payment means:
· Coins
· Prepaid chip card
· Credit card
The modularity of the equipment allows the operator to start with a certain means of payment (ex. coins) and to upgrade later on the payphone to accept the other means of payment (ex. coins) and to upgrade later on the payphone to accept the other means of payment (cards), or to modify the initials one (ex. from coins to card).
The same electronic board can manage the different means of payment, so modification/upgrading of different payment means requires only the replacement/addition of the necessary modules without any modification in the telephone
electronic.
PLURIMA 4 modular payphone is the right compromise for those operators who intend to offer a service open to all payment methods: "modulating it" in accordance with choice of site and categories of users.
The payphone consists of a BASIC MODULE to which the safety box containing the coin box can be added, in case of coin operation.

Basic Module
The Basic module is a housing made of stainless steel or painted steel, 2 mm thick. The basic module houses all the units necessary for the different types of payment except for
the safety box that is installed separately, when requested.

DISPLAY
The display can be of two types:
· Alphanumeric
· Matrix
In the case of an alphanumeric display, besides the telephone number dialed and the credit
available, the unit can display messages using the Latin alphabet. If a matrix type is used, any type of character can be displayed. In this way, besides being able to display messages in languages like Arabic, Russian, Chinese, etc., the unit can be used to display pictograms that
are useful to inform about the various states and modes of operation of the pay-phone.
Both types of display are completely programmable from the Management Centre

The Management Centre can therefore program the telephone to display advertising messages or information on telephone services (for instance, the launching of free services or the phone numbers giving access to public services).

COIN SLOT

Located on the upper part of the user interface, the coins slot is built in particularly strong metal. The coin slot unit includes a pushbutton
that opens the coin validator for the expulsion of coins jammed
inside. (A metal cover in cases where payment by coins is not allowed,
replaces the coin slot unit.

KEYBOARD

The keyboard is based on antivandal design (metallic keys), with the usual
12 keys plus 8 function keys. The functions of the additional keys can
be selected by the Operator.

Typical functions include:

·
Follow – on
· Re-dialing of the last number
dialed
· Choice of language
· Control of speech volume
· Checks at the receiving end
· “Press to talk” (if no pulse is sent
a called party reply)
· Change of card when credit on
the first card has been exhausted
during the call
· Automatic dialing of programmed
numbers

CARD READER

In order to simplify maintenance, the electronic unit of the reader (fixed
onto the main electronic circuit board) is separated from the contact unit.
The contact unit, incorporating a metal support that guides the card
when it is introduced into the machine, is placed almost
perpendicularly above the keyboard to facilitate maintenance. The
ergonomic shape of the card input slot allows for constant user access
to the card during the call and facilities the removal of the card. The
same unit may be fitted with magnetic reading heads for reading
commercial credits cards that conform to ISO standards.

When the pay-phone unit does not incorporate a card reader unit, a
metal cover closes the reader insertion slot.

The card reader allows for:
  • · the use of various types of synchronous and asynchronous smart cards
  • · the use of security modules (max. 4 SAM) credit card management
ELECTRONIC MAIN BOARD

The electronic circuit board, developed in keeping with the latest available technology, uses a
Motorola microprocessor. The microprocessor manages:

  • · a modem
  • · a RAM flash
  • · a serial communications port with
  • the card reading unit
  • · a serial port for controlling the
  • mechanical coin processing unit
  • · the keyboard
  • · a video display unit
  • · the coin validation system
  • · the handset support hook
  • · sensors for opening the user
  • interface window
  • · Fax / modem interface
This solution provides for the management with the same electronic board of communication
using prepaid chip cards, coins or credit cards.
The extremely flexible software involved can be modified to suit Operator’s requirements.

COIN VALIDATOR

The coin validator can handle up to 16 different coins whose dimensions are in the following ranges.
· Thickness: 1 + 3 mm
· Diameter: 16 + 30 mm

COIN HANDLING UNIT

The solution adopted for the coins
deposits allows:
· To collect coins during the
conversation (7 coins, optionally 8 coins stored during conversation) indepentenly from
the introduction sequence

Safety Box

This safety box is made of 2.5 mm. Thick stainless steel and is conceived in particularly sturdy, whether proof, vandal proof and fraud design.

The safety box contains the coins collection box, which is made of 1
mm. Thick stainless steel. Two collection box capacities are available:
1400 cu.cm or 2800 cu cm

Where payment by coins is not required, a metal covering will close the opening for the passage of coins (collection/refund).

Antitapping Device

The payphone inform in real time an optional unit (antitapping device) installed in the exchange, about the coin collection, thus allowing an antifraud check. The device interrupts
the line in case of fraud.

The Management Centre

All pay phones can be managed from the STG WIN Management Centre.
Advanced software allows for high flexibility so that the Operator’s
requirements, both with regard to the operation and maintenance of the
pay phone and in terms of network layout and statistics, are met
